General Information regarding our Amish Sheds

These buildings are an awesome addition to any property!

Any shed size can be designed as a larger version of our playhouse ~
ie: add a porch and a door with a window in it for the “cottage look”. 

Each shed is custom built for every customer and can therefore, be designed to suit your needs ~ ie: wider doors, more windows, doors at side or front, reinforced floors and ramps for heavier use (ie: cars).

The sliding windows are fully operational and include locks, safety glass and screens.  Man-doors can be as small as 24" wide or as wide as 86" to accomodate large garden equipment (ie: riding lawnmowers), cars, recreational vehicles, etc.
 
Steel Roofs: 

Our roofs are available in several colours:  “barn” red, bright red, black, brown, green, light “ash” grey, dark “charcoal” grey, blue, white, silver (plain galvanized).

Placement of Shed:

The sheds are built, delivered and remain on skids made of larch which will last a “lifetime”. Depending on the shed size, we use either two or four 4"x6" or 4"x7" larch skids. The shed floor is protected from rotting as it remains off the ground.  For this reason, costly and labour-intensive cement “pads” and foundations are not required. For large units, we recommend a gravel base approximately 4" to 6" thick and for smaller sheds, sometimes all that is required is 12" x 12" patio stones placed evenly beneath the skids.

Treatment of Wood:

The sheds may be left untreated and will eventually turn black for that old-fashioned, “blackish” barnboard look.  Double-boiled linseed oil ~ "cut" with varsol ~ may be applied to protect the wood and retain its natural colour. It is advisable to repeat this treatment every 2 years. If you paint or stain your shed, use an oil-based product. We also provide linseed-oil-treatment service.

Delivery time – Delivery fee - Deposit on order:

• The average delivery date is approximately 2 – 3 weeks from time of order, depending on time of year.
• Local Delivery (Niagara Region) ~ including set-up and leveling the building on the property ~ is $300.00; out-of-region and difficult-to-access sites will be quoted separately.
• A $500.00 deposit is required at time of order.
